QA Technician - Night Shift

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the administration of Quality Assurance functions as they relate to raw material and finished product testing to achieve customer product specifications and to adhere to all SOP and SSOP as per the Kevin’s Natural Foods standards. Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:00pm - 6:00am. Will be working at least every other weekend.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for monitoring, and programing critical control points (CCP), product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
  • Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and documentation.
  • Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
  • Work closely with production staff to maintain and education in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, GMP’s, and other food safety guidelines.
  • Responsible to issue disciplinary action when directed.
  • Collect product samples for product development, lab retains, and the laboratory when directed.
  • Perform inspections on products, equipment, and machinery.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by QA Management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a food processing environment.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a meat or poultry processing environment preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or food science. (
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, allergens, and food defense
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Flexibility and ability to work mandatory overtime and weekends as needed.

Schedule:

  • 10:00pm-6:00am
  • Monday - Friday with rotating weekends.
  • Will be expected to work overtime

The pay range for this role is $22.00 - $24.50/hour.

Maintenance Technician - Graveyard Shift

The Maintenance Technician works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. The individual is primarily responsible for ensuring that production equipment is at maximum uptime and in good repair. The expectation is the maintenance technician Level I will continue to grow in skills and abilities working closely with supervision and are promotable to Level II when the opportunities arise.

This is a 10:30pm-6:30am shift, Monday- Friday, with overtime as needed.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform general mechanical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and buildings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as well as plant electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Be able to perform preventative maintenance on the machines.
  • Assists in servicing and replacing minor plumbing fixtures.
  • Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.
  • Assists in minor carpentry and repair work.
  • Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order.
  • Completes emergency/unscheduled repairs as required to support manufacturing, as well as scheduled repairs/preventive maintenance.
  • Works closely with maintenance personnel on small projects including repairs and new construction projects to ensure work is completed safely and according to specifications.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects/tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed.
  • Ensure safety by following all company policies including safety rules, safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) personal safety standards, and food safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned and or dependent on plant needs.

What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in maintenance technician role
  • Experience in a meat processing and or food processing environment preferred.
  • In conjunction this individual is also responsible for maintaining an adequate set of personal hand tools that are in good working condition
  • Possesses strong analytical, mechanical, and electrical skills.
  • Must be able to make decisions and react quickly as job requires close attention.
  • Must be able to lift (60) pounds from the floor to waist level; must be able to perform strenuous physical labor at times more than 2 hours.
  • Some bending and stooping with frequent climbing of stairs; must be able to climb ladders of various lengths to elevations of 125 feet.
  • Must be able to work in confined/tight spaces.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as production mandates.

Production Supervisor - Night Shift

The schedule is 10:00pm - 6:30am, Wednesday-Sunday.

Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee labor, inventory, cleanliness, and food safety within the Lyco department. In this role, you will be in charge of training leads and associates in processing operations while reaching or exceeding all production goals.

What You'll Do:

  • Direct oversite for the Lyco (Thermal Processing) department assuring proper lethality is achieved for our proteins, vegetables and sauces.
  • Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  • Engage with and understand the sanitation process as it relates to the Lyco department.
  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Coordinate and supervises department operations to control costs, meet targeted labor, maintain projected profit margins, and meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Ensure Lyco room personnel is correctly staffed.
  • Ensure all food safety standards and guidelines are followed, including Safe Quality Food (SQF) and USDA
  • Monitor and maintain the Lycos for functional use.
  • Monitors employee performance, recommends personnel action (hiring, terminating, layoff and disciplinary action)
  • Ensure cooking temperatures are maintained and monitored.
  • Monitors Lycos for correct machine settings for optimum performance while conforming to product Specifications.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with established HR, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2 years relevant production and EHS work experience in the manufacturing industry; food processing experience required Familiarity with Food safety standards
  • Experience within the food and beverage transportation industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant manufacturing processes and related quality assurance and compliance requirements.
  • Some knowledge of Safety and Health disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish
  • Communications Skills: All management must be able to communicate professionally with all team members to create a positive work environment. They are responsible for properly training their leads and associates to ensure all grow to their full potential to have a positive impact on production. They must be able to communicate with senior management to provide feedback on production.

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000 per year.
